Free Plumbing Estimate Template

A reusable estimate worksheet for scope, price, exclusions and the customer’s decision.

AT A GLANCE

A plumbing estimate template should identify the job, describe the proposed work, show amounts in USD, explain exclusions and tax treatment, and provide an approval reference. This blank worksheet helps you prepare those details; it does not calculate a quote or create an accounting invoice.

  1. Define the scopeWhat is included and excluded?
  2. Show the assumptionsWhat still needs inspection?
  3. Record a decisionWhich version did the customer approve?
Illustrative document, not a Flor invoice or market price. These invented amounts explain the layout; they are not a quote for plumbing work.

What this worksheet is for

Use it to prepare an estimate before presenting it through your established business process. Begin with the actual proposed scope and only enter prices approved by the person responsible for quoting. If diagnosis is still needed, describe that uncertainty rather than making a fixed promise from a brief phone description.

The illustrated estimate above uses invented figures to show the layout. The worksheet below is blank so you can apply the business’s own assessed rates and terms. No national plumbing price or standard tax rate is implied.

Check the wording before sending

  • Can the customer explain what is included without asking the estimator?
  • Are exclusions specific enough to prevent a different interpretation?
  • Does the total reconcile with the line items and stated tax treatment?
  • Is the proposed visit timing distinct from the offer’s validity?
  • Is the approval tied to this exact version?

If the scope changes, preserve the earlier version and request a decision on the revised proposal. Do not edit an already accepted amount without recording what changed and how it was agreed.

Use the right record after approval

An accepted estimate records the customer’s decision. The work order then describes the agreed work for the team. A later invoice belongs in the business’s billing process. Keep these references connected without treating them as interchangeable documents.

Flor’s public demo illustrates estimate approval using fictional data. It does not issue accounting invoices, collect payment or calculate tax. Confirm live capabilities and commercial requirements before adopting a replacement process.

Adapt the worksheet responsibly

Add fields your business needs, such as a purchase reference or authorized site contact, and remove fields that do not apply. Have the appropriate person check your commercial wording and tax treatment. This is a practical starting point, not a legal contract or professional assessment of the plumbing work.

Keep a clean master, assign a stable reference to each issued estimate and store customer information in your approved system. Printing or downloading here does not submit the estimate to a customer or to Flor.
